What people keep saying
“I don't trust many mechanics. Most have tried to ‘upsell’ me immediately because I'm female. I really trust Austin and crew to give me a straight opinion and get the work done.”
Kate isn't the only one who raises it. Irmarie Dolz Maldonado writes about being used to shops pushing parts and services that were already taken care of, and that here they did exactly what was asked. Keyona Williams says they never try to sell you things you don't need.
That review goes further than most. If there's something they can't do, it says, they tell you straight and point you at another shop rather than waste your time or money. Three generations of the same family have been coming here.

A filling station that still fixes cars.
Their own description: a full service gas station with an automotive repair shop, family owned and operated in Columbia.
Full serve gas
Somebody comes out and fills it for you. The sign on the island says so, and it is the reason most people know the place.
Auto repair
A repair shop behind the forecourt, in their own words alongside the filling station.
Vehicle inspections
An official Missouri inspection station. The state placard is on the bay pillar.
Maintenance
The routine work, done in the same bays, Monday to Friday.

Painted on the window
Red cap, bow tie, one hand on the pump.
There's a bench under him, a few ferns, and a flag in the planter. It is exactly the kind of forecourt most places stopped having.
Pull up to the island and somebody comes out. That's the whole idea, and it's on the sign: we gladly offer full service.

The introduction was a chalkboard: hello my name is Chesney, six weeks. That is more onboarding than most staff get. Chesney now turns up in the station's own photos and on the merchandise, which is further than most staff get too.

Day one, and the chalkboard that did the introducing.
In their words.
“Really love taking my truck to Perry's. I don't trust many mechanics. Most have tried to “upsell” me immediately because I'm female. I really trust Austin and crew to give me a straight opinion and get the work done! Beat, most honest shop I've found in CoMo!”
“This was one of the best auto repair experiences I've had. I'm used to shops trying to upsell me on parts or services I've already taken care of myself. It gets old fast. That wasn't the case here. They completed exactly the work I requested, finished it promptly, and charged a very fair price. The entire process was straightforward, honest, and hassle-free. It's refreshing to find a shop that values integrity.”
“I've been coming to this auto shop for three generations, and they have always treated our family with honesty, respect, and great service. Their staff, especially Mike, is always very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. What I appreciate most is their honesty and loyalty. They never overcharge or try to sell you things you don't need. If there's ever something they can't do, they'll be upfront about it and even refer you to another trusted shop instead of wasting your time or money.”
“Austin is a very trustworthily and skilled mechanic, and I never worry about him over pricing or doing me wrong. A really great shop. Will always take my vehicles here first before going somewhere else.”
